ASSIGNMENT TASK:

 

 

1 With relevant examples, examine the processes involved in dispute resolution between a consumer and businesses under consumer law in the UK.

  1. Discuss the legal obligations of e-commerce businesses regarding the storage and security of customer data in a business set up.
  2. 3. As a business consultant, advice your client on the benefits of acquiring intellectual property for the protection of a business’s brand and products/services it offers. In addition, discuss the key steps in the process of acquiring IP trademark.

  • Ability to apply the Consumer Right Act 2015 in conflict resolution taking into consideration the appropriate enforcement agency.
  • Ability to understand and apply data protection laws as enshrined in the Consumer Rights Act of 2015.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the legal obligations around storage and security of consumer data

  • The ability to utilise the cognitive skills of critical thinking, explanation, analysis and judgement.
  • The ability to conduct adequate independent research using a variety of sources.

 

MARKING CRITERIA:

 

  • Identification of two key Agencies under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 and discussion of their functions (20 marks)
  • Legal obligations of e-commerce businesses regarding customer data (30 marks)
  • Outlining and discussion of customer data protection under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015. (10 marks)
  • Outlining and discussion of IP benefits with two relevant examples (15 marks)
  • Identification and discussion of key processes in the acquisition of an IP trademark (15marks)
  • Formal report structure and inclusion of extensive and relevant contemporary references. A minimum of 20 references are required. (10 marks)
